Todd Bolton
North America Paper Application Laboratories Manager, Solenis
Todd Bolton completed a Ph.D. in the College of Environmental Science and Forestry’s Pulp and Paper Department in Syracuse N.Y. He currently Managers the North America Paper Application Laboratories for Solenis LLC. These include a pilot plant, paper, process, and materials testing laboratories.
Todd has been with Solenis for 15 years, hired on when it was Hercules and remained in the company through its’ evolution to where it is today. He started out as a Senior Staff Scientist for the pulp group focusing on developing products for brown stock washing and separation processes before ultimately taking on his current leadership position.

David Loebker
Senior Scientist, Procter & Gamble
Dave is a Group Scientist at the Procter & Gamble company in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has worked in the pulp and paper industry for over 33 years. He is a named inventor on 30 US patents in the areas of tissue paper product, process, and analytical technologies for P&G.
Dave’s involvement TAPPI began during his undergraduate education at Miami University’s Paper Science and Engineering program. From there, he received a Master’s and PhD from the Institute of Paper Science and Technology.
Dave has been a member and leader of the TAPPI Tissue Properties Subcommittee for about 15 years, as well as involvement in other TAPPI committees with a focus on Standardized Test Methods and TIPS. He is also the convenor of the ISO Tissue Test Methods working group (part of ISO TC 6) for the past 10 years, as well as vice chair of the US Technical Advisory Group (US TAG) to ISO TC 6.
Dave has presented and published at TAPPI conferences multiple times over the years on topics related to tissue and towel paper absorbency, flushability, softness related properties, as well as the overall benefits of that TAPPI standards provide to ensure data objectivity, fair trade, and good decision making.
Dave is extremely honored to be the recipient of the 2023 TAPPI Process and Product Quality Division Award and the Richard S. Hunter Prize! I hope to continue my leadership in TAPPI in upcoming years, and to promote the benefits of TAPPI to the industry and its members.
