Preventing Dissolving Tank Explosions

Summary: Unlike recovery boiler explosions, dissolving tank explosions have not been trending downward over last decade. Several recent explosions have emphasized this. The discussion will focus on modern dissolving tank design and boiler / dissolving tank operational perspectives that will help minimize the risk of excursions and explosions. Comparisons with AFPA and BLRBAC recommendations pertaining to explosion prevention will be addressed.
