Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics
This hands-on workshop on the NC State campus provides a thorough overview of pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, stock preparation, papermaking and converting. The course will consist of presentations each morning and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises every afternoon, including a paper machine run and all of the major operations used to make pulp and paper. All major pulp and paper tests are also performed hands-on. Students receive a course notebook with approximately 400 pages of reference material.
